Lysis of E.coli cells following IPTG induction (small batch/analytical procedure)

Posted by: dami82, UIC, Chicago, IL, http://www.biotechworld.it/portfolio/fantini

The aim of this procedure is to check whether a recombinant protein of interest was expressed by E.coli cells after IPTG induction and whether the protein is enriched in the soluble protein pool or in the inclusion bodies of the host. For this reason, induced and non-induced E.coli aliquots HAVE TO be analysed side-by-side. The resulting protein samples may be analysed by SDS-PAGE followed by Coomassie staining. Western Blot analysis may also be performed.
